Research: Primary research methods

In order to find out my target audience and what they would be interested in to find in a magazine and actually want to buy it; I need to conduct some primary research.

Primary ResearchPrimary research is new research, carried out to answer specific issues or questions.
It can involve questionnaires, surveys or interviews with individuals or small groups.

Questionnaire: a set of printed or written questions with a choice of answers, devised for the purposes of a survey or statistical study.

Survey: A general view, examination, or description of someone or something.

Interview: Interviewing involves asking questions and getting answers from participants in a study.  Interviewing has a variety of forms including: individual, face-to-face interviews and face-to-face group interviewing.  The asking and answering of questions can be mediated by the telephone or other electronic devices (e.g. computers).
Interviews can be structured, semi-structure or unstructured.
